Choro Jam on Bainbridge
Village Music is happy to announce that we're again hosting a monthly Choro jam here on Bainbridge. As some of you may know, "Choro" is a genre of traditional Brazilian jazz music. A Choro jam session (or Roda, [Portuguese for "circle" or "wheel"]), includes rhythm section instruments and lead instruments. Although the repertoire is mostly learned by ear in Brazil, us gringos usually start by reading our parts until we get the hang of it.
If you play any plucked or bowed string instrument or horn, or percussion instrument, you will find a welcome niche in this music. You are also very welcome to just hang out and listen.
This event happens on the 2nd Sunday of every month!
Cost, tickets and logistics:
Sunday August 13, 1pm-4pm
