The first of 2023’s Classic Car Cruise-In starts this week and runs until the end of August. Spend Tuesday evenings admiring classic cars (or showcasing your own!), while enjoying a hotdog and helping local kids by making a donation to Project BackPack. This weekend you have a pick of live performances for all ages. Bainbridge Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty is on both Saturday and Sunday (including a Saturday matinee); enjoy this shortened version performed by children of all ages. On Saturday evening dust off your dancing shoes for WEAVE’s last 2022-2023 season performance featuring Foleada, a Seattle-based high energy Brazilian band. Enjoy a drink at the bar before the performance and during the interval and support WEAVE’s non-profit community organization bringing great musicians to Bainbridge Island.

Bainbridge Classic Car Cruise-In
The Bainbridge Island Classic Car Cruise-In combines the love of classic automobiles with a desire to help local kids. Open to the general public, come and enjoy cool cars and special interest vehicles or bring one of your own (no fee or advance reservation required). The car show is great family fun. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served. Donations will be accepted benefiting Project Backpack.

Sleeping Beauty & Repertory Performance
Bainbridge Ballet brings this classic performance to Bainbridge High School Theater with a shorter version which is perfect for young children and adults alike! Paired with a repertory of tap, jazz, contemporary, musical theater and afro performances by students 3yrs to 18yr.

Saturday Evening is Sleeping Beauty Only without the paired repertory of jass and other performances. Saturday Afternoon and Evening Performances combine the performance with a repertory of tap, jazz, and other performances by students.
Bainbridge Ballet’s purpose is to spark creative passion through accessible movement education, create a safe and loving space for authentic self expression, and ensure quality artistic experiences for every person, at every age and stage of life. Rhythmic movement is the basis of art, play and work. Dance feeds the soul, nourishes the body, challenges the mind, builds a relationship within the community, and is a tool for mastery of the physical and internal Self. When one steps onto the dance floor, we are showing up for ourselves and saying yes to the rhythm of life.
Their staff strives to create a classroom environment equipped with curriculum to meet every student where they are; to connect with every person on a one-on-one level which encourages self discovery and expression, creates a classroom community of welcoming and safety, and ensures an excellent movement arts experience.

Foleada at WEAVE
Foleada is a Seattle-based Forró band with a focus on Pé de Serra style. Forró is the heartbeat of Northeast Brazil and it draws on many musical styles, from Afro-Brazilian music like samba and baião to European polkas. Put on your dancing shoes for this high-energy Brazilian party which is WEAVE’s last event of the 2022-2023 season!!
