Bainbridge Island Oktoberfest
Bainbridge Island’s Oktoberfest takes place Saturday, October 3, from 1 to 9 p.m. at the Bainbridge Island Rowing Center, also known as the Stan Pocock Rowing Center. The event is a newer addition to the Island’s fall calendar and is organized through a partnership between the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association, Bainbridge Island Rowing, and Bainbridge Events.
The event centers on food, drinks, live music, and Oktoberfest-themed activities. Unlike some larger regional Oktoberfest celebrations, this one is designed as a local community event, with an emphasis on gathering at the waterfront and featuring Bainbridge-area businesses and organizations. The Downtown Association describes the event as a fall celebration built around local food and beverages, music, and festive activities.
The setting is a major part of the event. The Stan Pocock Rowing Center sits at 281 Brien Drive SE near Waterfront Park and Eagle Harbor. Its main gathering space overlooks the harbor, and the boathouse is within walking distance of both downtown Winslow and the Bainbridge ferry terminal. Bainbridge Island Rowing estimates the walk from the ferry terminal at about 10 minutes.
That makes Oktoberfest relatively easy to attend without a car, particularly for visitors coming from Seattle. Parking near the rowing center can be limited, and Bainbridge Island Rowing generally recommends using nearby public parking or the paid ferry-terminal lots when events draw larger crowds.
For people planning several activities on Saturday, Oktoberfest also overlaps conveniently with the Bainbridge Island Farmers Market. The market runs earlier in the day, while Oktoberfest continues into the evening, making it possible to visit both without much scheduling difficulty.

Night at BARN
Night at BARN takes place Saturday, October 3, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at BARN, the Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network. The 21-and-over event is BARN’s signature annual fundraiser and combines dinner, studio access, hands-on creative activities, and fundraising in support of the nonprofit organization.
BARN is a community maker space with studios dedicated to disciplines including woodworking, fiber arts, metal fabrication, jewelry, glass, cooking, printmaking, and other forms of craft and design. During Night at BARN, guests are invited into those spaces for a closer look at how the studios are used and how members, instructors, and visiting artists work within them.
The evening includes beverages and appetizers followed by a seated dinner. A live auction and paddle call are central parts of the fundraising program, with proceeds supporting BARN’s operations, classes, studios, and community programming.
One of the more distinctive parts of the event is the opportunity for guests to make something themselves. Attendees can work with experienced artisans on a creative project and leave with a finished piece from the evening. That hands-on component reflects BARN’s broader mission of giving people access to tools, instruction, and shared creative spaces rather than presenting the organization only as an exhibition venue.
