I love sharing things that quietly earn their place in our home — not trends, not “must-haves,” just items and resources that actually make daily life feel a little easier, calmer, or more thoughtful.

I’ve tried a lot of diffusers over the years, and most of them eventually ended up under the sink. Too much maintenance, too much mess, or just one more thing to manage. The Vitruvi Air Waterless Diffuser is different. It lives in our main living area and runs quietly in the background — no water, no steam, no refilling. I set it once and forget about it. I usually turn it on in the late afternoon as the house starts to wind down. It subtly changes the energy of the space without being overpowering, and the design blends in beautifully with the room.

Why it stays

  • No water or cleaning

  • Subtle, consistent scent

  • Looks like decor, not a gadget

is one of those things you don’t realize you’ll use constantly — until you do.

It stays folded on the sofa and gets used daily. Early mornings with coffee, evenings reading, movie nights — it’s always the one we reach for. It’s soft but substantial, cozy without looking casual, and neutral enough to work in any room. It keeps shape and looks nice even after multiple uses as a tent canopy during sleepovers.

It’s also one of my favorite gifts to give because it’s something people don’t always buy for themselves — but always use.

My aunt taught us this game a decade ago or so and since we are in the heart of cozy season, I wanted to pass along one of my favorite partner games. This game is a canasta style game with tons of ways to score, play defensively and react to penalties. This is a high scoring game that can be played in a duo or individually.

Each player is dealt two sets of cards: the hand and the foot. You play through your hand first, then your foot, building melds (sets) of cards and scoring points based on what you lay down. On the surface, it feels approachable: draw cards, play melds, discard. But as you learn to balance when to go out, when to save your cards, and how to work with your partner (if you’re playing 4-handed), you realize it’s deeper than it first appears.

Here is a brief tutorial.

With gratitude,

Dana
