I do think some of the softness we are seeing in the last couple months is due to a recalibration of rates- but in the long run I think this cooling is necessary.

For perspective, someone buying a home for 1.2M and putting down 20%, their payment would now be $1300 more a month than it was in January. For the majority of families, this is a very real number and a key factor in their monthly budget and what they may consider to be affordable.
