Know before you go:
This event is rain or shine!
Families are welcome!
Please note the location of this event is at the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal Beach.
Park in Winslow and you can walk down Olympic Drive to access the ferry terminal beach.
Participants at this event will be engaging in field-study, which will include walking on uneven terrain, slippery rocks, getting hands wet, and body motions such as bending, kneeling and squatting on the ground to see the creatures along the shoreline.
While this is a public beach, we recommend not bringing your dog, even leashed, due to the fragility of the creatures exposed at this extreme low tide. Dogs are naturally curious about wildlife, so it is important we are good stewards of our shoreline environments.
Service animals are welcome.
Please wear rubber boots, and if you must wear sandals, please make sure they are close-toed, versus the thong kind.
Don’t forget your sunscreen, bring a reusable water bottle, and your favorite marine life field guide – of course, we’ll have several to share!
