This week’s calendar has SO many camps running for kids of all ages that Summer Vacation must have now finally begun! We hope you have a fun-packed Summer planned for the kids, but don’t forget about the Adults in the family. A six-week class (aka “Camp for Adults”!) -Introduction to Acting for Adults- starts on Tuesday evenings. Or, if you want to improve your Painting Skills, spend the afternoon at Bloedel Reserve’s MasterClass Plein Air Painting. This week also includes the beginning of July and on Saturday, July 1, Eleven Winery is hosting a Ukrainian Dumpling Pop-Up, which combines the joy of summer, the delight of Ukrainian dumplings, and the spirit of giving back. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of dumplings will go directly to the tireless volunteers in Southern Ukraine who are delivering a significant humanitarian effort.

Introduction to Acting for Adults
Have you ever thought about auditioning for a show but weren't sure what's required or how to prepare? Been tempted to try acting for the first time - or to return to it - and see if you want to explore it further? Wondered how to develop a character and approach the text of a script?
This 6-week, 2 hours/week course offers a safe, fun, collaborative, and constructive space for adults to learn about and build confidence in acting. It provides hands-on, learning-by-doing that will help you to:
Build confidence to audition for a show
Gain experience to strengthen or to start an acting resume
Understand what opportunities exist locally for dipping your toes into acting
Prepare one or more potential audition pieces
Get practice performing in front of a group
Class sessions are on Tuesdays from June 27th through August 1st (with the exception of Tuesday 7/4, when class will be on Wednesday, July 5th), from 6:30-8:30pm at the Ovation! studio at 600 Ericksen Ave NE, Suite 103. Tuition is $250, and financial assistance is available: please email info@ovationmtb.com to inquire.

Plein Air Painting Masterclass at Bloedel Reserve
The Bloedel Reserve Plein Air Program is pleased to bring together some of the finest Plein Air artists in the region. In 2023, the Reserve is offering several days of painting on the grounds, including two days of Masterclass mornings with afternoon time to paint on the grounds. All levels are welcome.
Matt Eldridge, Teacher
Matt's background includes film/TV, theatre, voiceovers, commercials, improv, and modeling. He's been featured in spots for T-Mobile and AT&T, and has performed in over a dozen stage productions in the Seattle area, including as Max in Ovation's "The Sound of Music" last December. Most recently, Matt appeared in the feature film "Ingress" (2022), series pilot "Uprising" (2022) and series "Hetero" (2022). He has earned recognition as Best Actor in a Non-musical (Hon. Mention) and Best Actor in a Musical (Hon. Mention) by the west Puget Sound newspaper, the Kitsap Sun, for his performances in "Glengarry Glen Ross" (Roma) and "A Christmas Story: the Musical" (The Old Man). He studied drama at Stanford, and co-founded both the Stanford Improvisors and Seattle's Improsia.

Know before you go:
Participants need to have their own supplies and equipment. This can be as simple as a sketchbook and pencils, or as much as a full paintbox, folding chair and easel, or anywhere in between.

Ukrainian Dumpling Pop-Up
They are thrilled to invite you to a special event that combines the joy of summer, the delight of Ukrainian dumplings, and the spirit of giving back. By popular demand, the Dumpling Event is back!
But this event is about more than just food and wine. They are also coming together to support the tireless volunteers in Southern Ukraine who are making a significant humanitarian effort.
So, come and celebrate! It's an opportunity to enjoy a delightful summer day, savor delicious dumplings, sip on fine wine, and make a difference.
A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the dumplings will go directly to these brave individuals, helping them continue their vital work. Eleven is the result, ultimately, of an epiphany.
