Agate Point

Located at the northernmost tip of the island, Agate Point is a quiet neighborhood with mature evergreens towering overhead.  The area has multiple beach access points and is a great place to launch a kayak or do some fishing along Agate Pass. It also boasts something that no other location can, namely a bridge.  As such, it is an ideal place for those whose lives frequently take them to the Kitsap Peninsula or beyond.  The downside of being on the northern end of 305 is needing to get into Winslow in the morning during the am rush hour.

Area Highlights

Bloedel Reserve

Recently voted one of North America’s best botanical gardens by USA Today, this 150-acre forest garden was created by Virginia and Prentice Bloedel as a place to explore the relationship between people and nature. It is one of the top tourist destinations on Bainbridge and a perfect location to take a break from your day and go for a stroll.

West Sound Wildlife Refuge

Located just adjacent to and largely overshadowed by Bloedel Reserve, the Wildlife Shelter is a non-profit organization that takes in and rehabilitates injured wildlife.  It is a great place to learn more about local wildlife and help out along the way.
