As spring settles in and Bainbridge Island begins to stretch its arms into longer days and lighter evenings, there’s a fresh energy in the air—a perfect time to connect with neighbors, support local causes, and simply enjoy the unique blend of creativity, community, and charm that makes this island so special. This week, we’re highlighting three standout events that each bring something a little different to the table, but all share a common thread: they’re rooted in local spirit and powered by the people who live, perform, and show up here. Whether you’re looking to laugh until your cheeks hurt, tap your toes to live music, or show your support for the trails and forests we all cherish, there’s something on the calendar worth making time for. First up is Drag Bingo Night at Eleven Winery, a lively, laughter-filled evening featuring the magnetic Shay Fox, who’s bringing a splash of sass and a whole lot of sparkle to the bingo hall. With three rounds of bingo, great prizes, and wine on hand, it’s shaping up to be a one-of-a-kind Thursday night out—part game, part show, all fun. Then, on Saturday evening, the community gathers at Treehouse Café for the Grand Jam, a benefit concert supporting the preservation of Grand Forest East. Organized by the Bainbridge Island Land Trust in partnership with the Parks & Trails Foundation, this event combines great live music with a powerful purpose. With a lineup of local bands and a cause that hits close to home for anyone who’s wandered the trails of the Grand Forest, it’s more than just a concert—it’s a chance to stand up for the land we love while enjoying a night out with friends. And finally, if you’ve been craving some real, old-school stand-up comedy, The Johnny Five Show at Bainbridge Performing Arts delivers exactly that. Produced by Dan Rosenberg, this event features eight comedians performing their tightest five-minute sets, inspired by the format that helped shape comedy in the ‘80s. It’s fast-paced, sharp, and packed with punchlines, offering not only a nostalgic nod to a golden era of entertainment, but a showcase of fresh, contemporary comedic talent. Whether you’re in it for the laughs, the music, or the mission, this week’s events are a reminder of what makes Bainbridge such a dynamic place to live: we gather, we celebrate, we care deeply—and we know how to have a good time while doing it. So mark your calendars, invite a friend or two, and step into the vibrant rhythm of island life.

On Thursday, April 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, the winery will host its very first evening of bingo with a fabulous twist. It’s not just bingo—it’s a full evening of entertainment, community, and a healthy dose of sparkle.

Headlining the night is the incomparable Shay Fox, one of Seattle’s most beloved drag performers. With a sharp sense of humor, magnetic stage presence, and plenty of sass, Shay knows how to keep a room laughing. Her performance will be more than just background entertainment—it’s an essential part of the experience, full of character, flair, and unexpected surprises.

The bingo itself is straightforward and fun: each card is just $1, with up to three rounds scheduled throughout the night. Whether you’re a bingo pro or just curious, it’s easy to jump in and join the fun. The real joy comes from the shared experience—laughing with friends, meeting new people, and rooting for that next lucky number. Grand Jam for the Grand Forest

This Saturday, April 19th, the Treehouse Café will come alive with the sound of music, community spirit, and a shared mission: saving a beloved part of Bainbridge Island. The Bainbridge Island Land Trust is hosting Grand Jam, a benefit concert to raise funds for the preservation of nearly 40 acres of Grand Forest East—a vital natural area cherished by hikers, bikers, and nature lovers alike.

Starting at 5:30 PM, the evening promises not only great music, but also a meaningful way to connect with neighbors and support a cause rooted in the heart of the island. With a fundraising goal of $2.4 million in 2025, every ticket, every song, and every voice in the crowd plays a part in protecting this green space for future generations.

The live music lineup is as eclectic and exciting as the cause itself. From the energetic duo Georgia and Andy’s Extraordinary Playlist to the soulful grooves of Blue Fish, the dreamy sounds of Ocean Men, and the electrifying tribute to Bad Company by Six Gun Rebels, there’s something for every musical taste. It’s more than just a concert—it’s a celebration of what makes Bainbridge special: community, creativity, and care for the land.

Tickets are just $30, with all proceeds going directly toward the Stand for the Grand Forest campaign. The event is supported by the Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation, reflecting the island-wide commitment to keeping our trails open, our trees standing, and our outdoor spaces accessible and thriving.

The Treehouse Café, located at 4569 Lynwood Center Road NE, is the perfect setting for a night like this. Known for its warm atmosphere and local charm, it’s a gathering place that feels just right for this kind of grassroots effort. Dan Rosenberg Presents “The Johnny Five Show”

If your idea of a great Sunday includes wine, sunshine, and live music, then you’ll want to carve out a little time for this afternoon concert at Eleven Winery. On April 13th, from 2 to 5 PM, the Lisa M & M Kelly Duo will be taking the stage—and they’re bringing a truly one-of-a-kind sound.

This isn’t your average acoustic duo. Lisa M is classically trained with an operatic background, while M Kelly is a self-taught folk-rock musician. On paper, they might seem like an unlikely musical match, but in person, their contrasting styles blend into something really special. The result is an energized, unexpected, and super fun setlist that spans genres and generations.

Expect to hear songs you love but rarely hear covered—think contemporary artists like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, and Alanis Morissette. They even dip into more eclectic territory with tunes by the Alison Krauss & Robert Plant duo. If you’re a fan of throwbacks, don’t worry—they’ve got those too, with classics by Chuck Berry, the Beatles, and Simon & Garfunkel. The variety keeps things fresh, and their chemistry makes every song feel personal.

Eleven Winery’s setting adds to the charm. Whether you’re inside sipping a bold red or outside enjoying the breeze with a crisp white in hand, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger. It’s casual and welcoming, with plenty of space to relax, chat with friends, or just vibe with the music.

This event is perfect for pretty much everyone—music lovers, wine enthusiasts, or anyone looking for an easygoing way to spend the afternoon. No tickets or reservations are needed; just show up, grab a glass, and settle in.

And if you haven’t been to a live music event at Eleven before, this is a great one to start with. It’s low-key, friendly, and full of good energy. So bring your people (and maybe a blanket if the weather’s nice), and enjoy some local talent in a local spot that always delivers a great time.
