As spring settles in and Bainbridge Island begins to bloom, there’s no better time to get out, try something new, and soak up a little local culture. Whether you’re in the mood to get creative, listen to live music, or enjoy an evening of family-friendly classical performance, there’s something happening this week that will add a little spark to your routine. We’ve rounded up three standout events that offer a perfect mix of hands-on fun, beautiful music, and welcoming community vibes.
First up, if you’re feeling crafty (or just need a peaceful break from the daily grind), the Light & Bloom Candle Making Class on Thursday, April 10 is a great way to ease into the weekend. Hosted at Eleven Winery, this cozy, two-hour workshop offers everything you need to make your own custom-scented candle—from high-quality materials to step-by-step guidance. It's the kind of midweek reset that feels both relaxing and productive, especially with a glass of wine in hand and vineyard views in the background. Whether you come solo, with a date, or with a few friends, you’ll walk away with a handmade creation and maybe even a new hobby.
Then, on Saturday evening (or Sunday afternoon, if that works better for your schedule), head over to Bainbridge Performing Arts for Notes of Spring, a concert by the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra. This isn’t a formal, stuffy affair—it’s designed to be easygoing and welcoming for all ages. The program features something for everyone, including the premiere of a new piece by contemporary composer Jessi Harvey, a solo performance by the winner of the Young Artists Competition, and a charming musical telling of The Story of Babar the Little Elephant, narrated by students from the BPA Youth Theatre School. It’s a lovely blend of fresh talent, whimsical storytelling, and orchestral beauty that makes for a memorable night (or afternoon) out.
Finally, wrap up your weekend on a high note with the Lisa M & M Kelly Duo, performing live at Eleven Winery on Sunday, April 13 from 2 to 5 PM. This duo brings together two totally different musical backgrounds—one operatic, one folk-rock—and turns them into something lively and totally unique. Their setlist jumps from Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran to Simon & Garfunkel and Chuck Berry, with plenty of surprises in between. The music is fun, the wine is flowing, and the setting couldn’t be more relaxed. No need for tickets—just show up, settle in, and enjoy.

Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra Presents “Notes of Spring”
The Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra is putting on a concert called Notes of Spring on April 12, 2025. It’s designed to be a relaxed, family-friendly event with a mix of music that’s fun and accessible for all ages. One of the big features of the concert is a brand-new piece by composer Jessi Harvey, which will be performed for the first time ever. Harvey’s music often draws from nature and emotion, and this premiere is part of the orchestra’s effort to support living composers and keep things fresh.
Another part of the concert will spotlight the winner of the orchestra’s 2024 Young Artists Competition. This winner will get to perform a solo piece with the orchestra—it's a great opportunity for a young, up-and-coming musician to be featured in front of an audience.
The show will also include a performance of The Story of Babar the Little Elephant, a charming musical story written by French composer Francis Poulenc. It's like a musical version of a children's book, with narration and music that follow the plot. The narration will be done by kids from the Bainbridge Performing Arts Youth Theatre School, so it’s a cool mix of live music and storytelling with young performers involved.
It's happening at Bainbridge Performing Arts, the main performing arts hub on Bainbridge Island.
Cost, tickets and logistics:
Saturday, April 12, 7:30pm and Sunday, April 13, 3pm
Bainbridge Performing Arts, 200 Madison Ave N, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110

Live music at the Winery: The Lisa M & M Kelly Duo
If your idea of a great Sunday includes wine, sunshine, and live music, then you’ll want to carve out a little time for this afternoon concert at Eleven Winery. On April 13th, from 2 to 5 PM, the Lisa M & M Kelly Duo will be taking the stage—and they’re bringing a truly one-of-a-kind sound.
This isn’t your average acoustic duo. Lisa M is classically trained with an operatic background, while M Kelly is a self-taught folk-rock musician. On paper, they might seem like an unlikely musical match, but in person, their contrasting styles blend into something really special. The result is an energized, unexpected, and super fun setlist that spans genres and generations.
Expect to hear songs you love but rarely hear covered—think contemporary artists like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, and Alanis Morissette. They even dip into more eclectic territory with tunes by the Alison Krauss & Robert Plant duo. If you’re a fan of throwbacks, don’t worry—they’ve got those too, with classics by Chuck Berry, the Beatles, and Simon & Garfunkel. The variety keeps things fresh, and their chemistry makes every song feel personal.
Eleven Winery’s setting adds to the charm. Whether you’re inside sipping a bold red or outside enjoying the breeze with a crisp white in hand, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger. It’s casual and welcoming, with plenty of space to relax, chat with friends, or just vibe with the music.
This event is perfect for pretty much everyone—music lovers, wine enthusiasts, or anyone looking for an easygoing way to spend the afternoon. No tickets or reservations are needed; just show up, grab a glass, and settle in.
And if you haven’t been to a live music event at Eleven before, this is a great one to start with. It’s low-key, friendly, and full of good energy. So bring your people (and maybe a blanket if the weather’s nice), and enjoy some local talent in a local spot that always delivers a great time.
