Music and Art are the theme for this week with lots of opportunities for you to expand your enjoyment and exposure to different styles of live music. Spend Thursday evening at The Manor House where Bainbridge Arts and Crafts host “Shine Live Auction” celebrating live music and art while raising money for the SHINE Art Academy, an Arts Education school. On Friday at the Marketplace, listen to Vince Bigos performing original material, as well as covers by Hank Williams, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan. And Saturday brings an amazing opportunity for kids to learn to appreciate Jazz; take them along to a Matinee at Weave, hosted by the Dmitri Matheny Group. This will be a lively and interactive introduction to jazz for families and young audiences featuring a variety of entertaining musical styles from jump swing, to samba, calypso, and more. And later that evening adults can return to WEAVE to attend Dmitri’s full concert!

Shine Live! Early Bird Dinner and Auction Ticket

Live Music at The Marketplace with Vince Bigos
Every Friday the MarketPlace has live music and this week Vince Bigos, a Pacific North West singer/songwriter performing original material, as well as covers by Hank Williams, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan. Enjoy this free event while enjoying Wine, Beer, and Food from vendors and local restaurants at the Lynwood Center.
The Marketplace is a neighborhood gathering spot for meeting family, friends and neighbors. Their coffeehouse, delicatessen and tap room offer a wide variety of quality food and drink—all with an emphasis on local. Fresh ingredients, tasty meals. The Marketplace is what it’s all about when it comes to local. Cafe open daily 8am-3pm, Tap Room open daily 3pm-8pm with take-out available from Joe’s Restaurant.

Jazz for Kids: Family Matinee
An all-ages jazz party celebrating the joy of music-making with an all-star band Dmitri Matheny Group! Created especially for families and young audiences, the program features a variety of entertaining musical styles from jump swing to samba, calypso, and more.
Jazz For Kids is a lively and interactive introduction to jazz that illuminates the art form’s cultural origins, demystifies improvisation, and promotes creative self-expression.

Jazz For Kids draws a parallel between the bandstand and the community to promote important social values such as cultural diversity, civic responsibility, cooperation and teamwork. This fun-filled and informative program explores the role of each individual and instrument in the jazz ensemble and how they must all work together in harmony to achieve a common goal.

This is an in-the-round performance prioritizing room for dancing and limited seating reserved for elders, and people with injuries or disabilities.
