Every year since 1967, Bainbridge Island has lit up with the spirit of Independence Day through its iconic Fourth of July parade. A tradition that brings the island community together. Some are whimsical creations while others are inspired by our island’s history or local organizations. These floats showcase what makes Bainbridge special. Winslow Way transforms into a marketplace, filled with local vendors selling everything from handmade crafts to delicious treats. It’s a chance to support our neighbors and soak in the festive atmosphere. It’s a time to connect with new friends and reconnect with old ones. Months of planning go into those floats, each one telling a story about Bainbridge Island and the people who call it home. It’s a chance for groups to express their creativity and show off their community spirit for all to see. After the parade winds down, the celebrations continue with live music, games for the kids, and plenty of family-friendly activities lining Winslow Way. Parks fill up with picnics and laughter, creating memories that last long after the day is over. It’s a true celebration of our history, our creativity, and the ties that bind us together as a community. The 2024 Grand Old 4th Car Show is another highlight not to be missed. Guests from allover attend the car show to appreciate the craftsmanship, history, and the love of wheels. Located on Bjune Drive, behind Umpqua Bank and Chase Bank, the Car Show kicks off early and runs until 2:00 pm. Some folks proudly display their cars all day, joining in on the fun-filled activities happening around them. Judging at the Car Show is friendly and fun, with six categories to compete in and a People’s Choice Award voted on by the community. And let’s not forget about those trophies—they’re not your average plaques. Crafted as unique art pieces by Dick, Aaron, and Jim Strom from Modern Collision Rebuild & Service, these awards are handed out at noon, making the moment even more special for winners and spectators alike. Arrive between 6:30 and 8:30am sharp due to the BYS Fun Run logistics. It’s a day where classic cars and trucks get their moment to shine alongside community spirit and good times. These events are more than just festivities—they’re a chance to celebrate our history, connect with neighbors, and create lasting memories. Come join Bainbridge for a day filled with cars, camaraderie, and community spirit.

Street Dance

Get ready to groove at this year's annual Street Dance—it's shaping up to be one heck of a party! Kicking off the evening at 6:00 pm sharp is Songbird, setting the stage for an awesome lineup. Following them, The Rising Sons will keep the energy high with their infectious tunes, and closing out the night with a bang will be Fat Saturn. The beats don't stop there though—get ready to dance your heart out with our Live DJ spinning from 7 pm all the way till 11 pm. It’s guaranteed to keep the party going strong. There is something for everyone, including the little ones. KiDiMu is hosting a Kid’s Zone on Madrone Lane near Dana's, filled with hands-on activities and fun from 6 pm to 9 pm. It’s the perfect spot for your kids to unleash their creativity while you enjoy the music and ambiance of the Street Dance. Winslow Way will be transformed into a foodie paradise, with a variety of amazing food vendors and local favorites dishing up everything from savory delights to sweet treats. For our 21 and over crowd, don't miss out on the Beer & Wine Garden sponsored by Bainbridge Brewing and Fletcher Bay Winery. Nestled in the heart of the action, it’s the ultimate spot to unwind with a glass of your favorite drink. They have a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, a refreshing Rosé, a robust Red, and something hoppy like a Kömmuter Kölsch or an award-winning IPA. Remember to bring your ID and cash or card for a hassle-free experience. Iif you’re feeling up for it and want to give back to the community, Bainbridge Island Chambers Of Commerce encourage you to volunteer. Your help would truly make a difference. So grab your calendar, spread the word to your friends and family, and get ready to dance, eat, drink, and make memories at the Street Dance. Parking is available in parking lots on the east and west side of Bainbridge Island High School. Both wheelchair and gender-neutral bathrooms are located inside the high school. Children are welcome to join, however there will be a dedicated area for people over the age of 21.

Grand Old Fourth Hometown Parade

Every year since 1967, Bainbridge Island has been throwing a Fourth of July parade that's become a real summer staple. A big block party down Winslow Way, with floats, bands, and all sorts of local groups showing off their stuff. The parade kicks off with colorful floats cruising through downtown Bainbridge. You'll see everything from creative designs to cool historical themes that really showcase what makes this island special. It's a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate our community spirit. Winslow Way turns into a marketplace with vendors selling everything from handmade crafts to yummy snacks and drinks. It’s a great chance to support local businesses and enjoy the festive vibe. But what really makes this day special is how it brings everyone closer. It’s a time to catch up with old friends and maybe even make some new ones, all while enjoying the excitement of the festivities. Groups spend months planning their floats to reflect what Bainbridge Island means to them. It’s a chance to get creative and show off their community pride. After the parade winds down, the celebrations keep going with live music, games for the kids, and lots of family-friendly activities around Winslow Way. Parks fill up with picnics and people just hanging out, soaking in the community spirit. The Fourth of July on Bainbridge Island is something you won’t forget. It’s all about coming together to celebrate our history, our creativity, and the bonds that make this place so special.

Parking is located at the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal (270 Olympic Dr SE, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110). Paying for parking is required and located at pay stations in the parking lot. Bathrooms are located in businesses along Winslow Way Including Town & Country (343 Winslow Way E, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110). Children are welcomed and encouraged to join.

Bainbridge Island Grand Old 4th Car Show

The 2024 Grand Old 4th Car Show on Bainbridge Island is gearing up, and the application process is now open for all potential exhibitors. It’s a chance to show off your wheels in a fun and festive atmosphere. What makes this car show cool is the wide variety of vehicles you’ll see. From classics, rods, foreign cars, motorcycles, and even some oddballs thrown in for good measure. All vehicles are welcome for entry. The Car Show takes place on Bjune Drive, specifically in the parking lots behind Umpqua Bank and Chase Bank. On the big day, cars are on display for the public to admire from around 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Some folks choose to leave their vehicles there all day, soaking in the festivities and enjoying everything the eventful day has to offer. The Car Show is part of an all-day celebration. There’s also a Main Street Parade, a fun BYS Fun Run, a Beer Garden for the adults, and a Kids Zone to keep the little ones entertained. The cars compete in six friendly categories, including a People’s Choice Award chosen by all you awesome visitors. Plus, the trophies are not your run-of-the-mill awards—they’re custom-welded art pieces courtesy of Dick, Aaron, and Jim Strom from Modern Collision Rebuild & Service. They’re handed out at noon, so be sure to stick around. A quick note for all you eager participants: make sure to arrive between 6:30 am and 8:30 am. There is a strict entry time due to the BYS Fun Run, so mark your calendars and set those alarms. If you’ve got a classic car or truck that deserves some attention, this is your chance to shine. The Grand Old 4th Car Show is where it’s at. Join for a day of cars, community spirit, and good times.

Registered vehicles must show up to the event at 6:30-8:30am. The cars will be viewed by the public from 8am-2pm. Parking is available at The Bainbridge Ferry Terminal. Paying for parking is required and available at pay stations in the parking lot. A shuttle will be available at the ferry terminal. Bathrooms are located inside the Bainbridge First Baptist Church building.
