Get ready for an exciting week on Bainbridge Island! Kicking things off, Mariachi Monarcas are bringing a taste of Mexican culture to the public library. Their music will whisk you away on a journey through Mexico's regions. What sets them apart is their knack for personal expression. They each bring their own unique style to the group. Although it's not just about the music, they dress the part too, sporting traditional charro outfits while they perform. Next up, indie-rock musician BYLAND, aka Alie Renee, is taking the stage at the Treehouse Cafe, a cozy spot right by the water with stunning views of Puget Sound. The cafe serves up everything from pizzas to sandwiches. If you hop over to the bar, you'll find sugary sweet drinks or a little liquid encouragement (bring your ID—it's 21+ only). Alie Renee has roots in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but found her musical home in Seattle. Since dropping her album "Gray" in 2020, she's been making waves with her blend of vulnerability and unique musical arrangements that really connect with audiences. Later in the week, IslandWood is hosting Point a low tide beach exploration at Point White Beach. Beach naturalists will join you along the adventure to guide you and point out interesting critters like sea stars, sea urchins, and marine worms. They are also joining to answer any questions you may have, and how to hold the creatures. It's an all-ages event, so bring your kiddos! Make sure to preregister so that there are enough volunteers to join everyone. Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen because it's going to be a sunny day! Bainbridge Island has lined up the perfect mix of events for an unforgettable adventure. From a musical journey through Mexico with Mariachi Monarcas, to mingling with fellow community members at BYLAND's concert, and exploring the beach with your family. Don't miss out on these fantastic opportunities for family bonding and musical discovery!

Byland
We’re starting off this week by supporting locals with roots from near and far. Leave the kids at home because this is a 21+ only event. From across the sound, BYLAND will be performing at Treehouse Cafe. BYLAND, an indie-rock artist from Seattle with roots in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has made her way to the island to share her love of music. This quirky cafe, nestled in Lynwood Center, offers a cozy and unique atmosphere perfect for enjoying a range of delicious dishes from sandwiches to pizza and drinks from sugary sweets to liquid encouragement (don’t forget to bring your ID if you’re planning on ordering the latter).
One of the many highlights of Treehouse Cafe, and Bainbridge Island, is the stunning view of Puget Sound. This cafe is a local favorite to relax, enjoy good food, and take in the beautiful scenery. BYLAND, also known as Alie Renee, has been making waves in the music scene since her debut album "Gray" in 2020. Her music, which blends vulnerability with unique arrangements, has garnered attention from top music outlets like KEXP, American Songwriter, and Pop Matters. Originally from Albuquerque, she returned to her roots in Seattle in 2022 after spending some time in New Mexico. Her recent tour from Texas to Seattle showcased her raw talent and performances, and she’s bringing that to us right here on the island. Cross over to the other side of hump day with BYLAND.
